May 2021 Pastor Session Update
The second Pastor’s training session was rescheduled to May 16th -28th after the covid lockdown was lifted on 1st May. Read the report below from DPTC Executive Director, Paul Njuguna.
“Our class of 2020 is anxious to finish their program and graduate so they can create room for others. All the same we thank God for preserving all of us and can only praise him when we are able to conduct training.
For the session, we lined up four courses of study as we do every other session. We had; Christian Education, Introduction to Islam, Comparative religions, and Servant leadership. We also had other programs like morning devotions where an exposition of the book of Nehemiah was done. The class also took time for fervent prayers which also included skipping lunch on Thursdays to raise petitions to God. This is one of the great joys of having Pastors in session as we know all our prayers concerns are taken care of and I know this has been the secret of success for our ministry.
Covid protocols were also observed as much as possible. We rejoice to know that our God is the greatest protector. One student Pastor Josphat Kamau had an infection which caused bursting of his eardrum. The infection was caused by a swollen tonsil. We took him to a dispensary in Ngong where he was attended and will be seeking further attention in our National Hospital. Kindly keep him in your prayers.
For our Sunday Mission outreach, we took the class to Thika where Pastor Miriam Marete has a new church plant. It was exciting to see the class participate in the worship service and also at the open air crusade meeting at the shopping center in Makongeni, Thika. This session marked the end of course work for the class of 2020 and what remains now is the Mission Internship scheduled for Sept’5th -17th and the
