Friends of Divine Providence partners with Divine Providence Training Center to focus on the following mutual goals:
- Capital Projects
- to aid in building, improving, maintaining, or developing capital assets, including the cost of labor and professional services for operations, for the use and benefit of DPTC and its students
- to move DPTC towards self-sufficiency through productive use of these assets
- School Quality Development Projects
- to sustain the highest possible quality of pastor education at the school, expand the reach of the school to more students and their communities, and continue education and assistance for the school’s alumni
- Community Impact Projects
- to positively impact the School’s greater community and enhance relationships among community leaders and the leaders of CTLI and DPTC
- Emergency Response Projects
- to sustain the school and its facilities through unforeseen emergency circumstances

2023
Grant Amount: Approved for $16,841
This grant helped DPTC cover costs for the True Identity Training and Graduation for the class of 2023.

This was a non-construction grant of $8,000 to cover costs for the Mission Trip for the graduating class of 2023.
This was a non-construction grant of $9,693 to cover the build-out of the Water Kiosk.

- Water Kiosk proposal – The requested funding is to help us hire George 4-5days
for research to help determine the viability of starting up a water kiosk.
The research will establish all the equipment needed, business shop rent,
attendant salaries among other costs which will be captured on a P&L forecast. - Laser printer fixing – This will help us cover the shipping costs of returning the part to China, custom duty, repair costs & installation costs. The laser printer is very
crucial and helps us put the manufacturing and expiring date on bottled
water. - Design and modification for a shrink tunnel for sleeve labels and dust seal
together with the supply of stainless steel accumulation benches along the
production line.

As DPTC continues to recover from the impacts of COVID, this grant will help DPTC complete the remaining training sessions in May and July, the Mission internship in October, and graduation in December. They will also be able to cover other camp running expenses which include, power bills, repairs & maintenance, salaries, and necessary insurance.

2022
This was a non-construction grant for $10,698 for tent repairs to replace the fly sheets for tents 3-9.
Grant Amount: $ 36,038
Funding for assistance in helping CTLI cover operational costs for the
period September- December 2022.
Operations costs help in Camp Maintenance which hosts the Divine Providence
Training Center. Without an operational camp, it would not be possible to carry out the
Pastors training.
The funds help pay for the facilitation of Pastors’ training session which includes food
and lodging as well as faculty honoraria.

Grant Amount: $6739
Funding for assistance in helping CTLI make improvements on Chemi
Chemi Water Factory Standards to ensure effective & quality production.
The highlighted areas are as follows:
- Floor Polishing – When the machines moved into the factory, the floor was scratched and it has been hard to clean it and present it shinning to the factory Standards. The plan is to engage the contractor who put the terrazzo floor to bring in the machines again for grinding and polishing.
- Graveling of the area next to the Loading Bay – This needs to be done to keep off dust and mud from the loading bay and also to improve the area where the water truck is packed.
- Storage Cabinet & Water Factory Store shelves – Provide space for safe keeping of items in the factory.
- Provision of 2-3 Factory Ground Fans – These will help in providing cool air, especially during the day. It becomes extremely hot and uncomfortable to work in the factory.
- Washroom & floor area finishes – Finalize the washrooms and
changing areas for factory staff. Lockers will also be provided for safekeeping - Acquire a Semi-Electric Straddle Stacker& Purchase plastic pallets – The goal is to acquire a used one as this is less expensive. It will make the loading of water
easy and faster.

This grant provided $8,253 for upgrades and preventive maintenance for the water factory due to supply interruptions and other problems associated with Covid. Robert Saunders, the engineer who assisted with the original planning and installation, will purchase needed supplies and visit ChemiChemi to work with the team for installation.

This grant provided $19,928 for repair of the tents and platforms at Camp Chemi Chemi. Maintenance of the camp is critical to the continued mission of Divine Providence. The team at Chemi Chemi have been faithful stewards extending the life of the tents and platforms well beyond the projected life. These repairs will extend the life of the tents for another 3-4 years after which they will need to be replaced.

This grant provided $28,541. Funds will be used to help in Camp Maintenance which hosts the Divine Providence Training Center and cover the period from January – April, 2021. Without an operational camp, it would not be possible to carry out the Pastors training.

This grant provided $3,569 for start-up costs to being water bottling production. The grant included materials and other associated costs. Amended 01-06-22 to cover $800 for replace rear tires on the water delivery truck

This grant provided $40,000 for emergency operations funds while the organization in Kenya is reopening and restarting projects shutdown due to COVID-19. This grant was made possible by the generosity of our donors who stepped up to reach the goal for the $40,000 matching grant.

This grant funded $47,950 for the purchase of a truck for water delivery. The grant includes the purchase and associated fees to begin operating the vehicle.
