Board Members

Beth is a co-founder of CTLI and has a BS in Physical Therapy and an M.S. in Health Leadership and Administration from Georgia State University.  She is CEO of CaraVita Home Care, Roswell, GA. As a past Board Member of Care to Learn International, Beth advises in business and sustainability.

Sally has a B.S. in Education, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN, and a Master of Arts in Christian Studies, Luther Rice Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA.  She is a founder of Care to Learn International and has served as CTLI Board Chairman.   She was an adviser of education and curriculum of Divine Providence Training Center, Kenya and she currently is an adjunct faculty member as well.

Susan Gunter, Executive Assistant to the Senior Pastor at RUMC, has been a part of DPTC through Roswell UMC since its conception. Though she has never been to Kenya, her love for DPTC is inspired by the wonderful virtual connection she has with DPTC’s staff and leadership and also by the stories of those who have traveled there. Susan lives in Canton with her husband Charlie, has three adult children and 12 grandchildren.

Kelly has been married for 28 years to Jenny and has two kids, Edwin and Ginger.  He is a corporate finance professional.  He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Finance and from Georgia State University with an M.B.A. and M.S. in Finance.  He holds numerous professional certifications including Certified Management Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst.  Kelly is active with Troop 87 in Roswell and is the district fundraising chairman for the Boy Scouts of America.  He is the Treasurer of Friends of Divine Providence and was instrumental in establishing the new Georgia-based nonprofit corporation.

Scott Manley is an Atlanta native who has a BA in Political Science from Furman University and a BA in Financial Accounting from the University of West Florida.  Scott served as a United States Marine Corp Officer followed by a 30 year career as a Delta Airlines Captain.  He is husband to Cindi and father of Jack and Mitch.

John Bender has 40 years of management experience in Sales and Marketing. John currently manages the N. A. Williams Co. Traditional Business Group after the acquisition of Accelerated Sales & Marketing LLC in 2015 where he was a partner and owner. John currently serves in a variety of national leadership roles with The Auto Care Association. John has been involved in several community non-profit organizations and Roswell Methodist Church leadership roles. John was a long-term board member of Care To Learn International and Divine Providence Training Center, ministries focused on the training of pastors in Kenya.  John holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Tampa. John and his wife Mary Ann live in Roswell and have two grown children and two grandsons.

Craig Benn is an insurance executive with 25+ years of underwriting experience in Aviation and Workers’ Compensation.  Craig and his family have been actively involved in the Church and have a passion for helping the people of Africa. Craig earned his BS in Business Administration from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.  He and his wife Janet, an Oncology Nurse, live in Roswell, GA and their Daughter, Kate is a student at the University of South Carolina.

Sandra Gray has been long involved in Divine Providence Training Center.  She made six mission trips to Kenya beginning in 2012, during which she completed several projects improving the grounds of Chemi Chemi.  She was blessed to be part of the team that installed the water purification plant in 2017.  Ms. Gray is a licensed art teacher and attorney.  She currently has a small family law practice in Roswell, Georgia, ministering to persons undergoing divorce.

Dave has both a B.S. and a Professional Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Harvard University.  He retired as a V.P. of Operations from an international manufacturing company where he was responsible for Manufacturing,  Engineering and Logistics.  He is a frequent teacher of adult Bible studies at Roswell United Methodist Church and an active participant in the DPTC water project.

Julia Thompson holds a Bachelor’s in Industrial & Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Julia has been involved with Divine Providence as an advisor focusing on trip planning, website development and microfinance training since its inception. She is a member of Roswell United Methodist Church in Roswell, Georgia where she served 16 years on the mission team and continues to be actively involved in service activities.
