February 2025 Pastor Training Session

This report provides a record of events that took place at Divine Providence Training Centre.

This includes a report summary of the DPTC class session- second year, that took place starting 2nd to 14th February 2025. The participants are student Pastors undertaking their undergraduate course. The courses are mainly based on theology which provides the knowledge to the students and included topics and lessons at a biblical point of view. The courses were undertaken by four teachers. These are: –

  1. BL 103 Romans and Galatians. By Rev Jotham Munene.
  2. MN 306 Servant Leadership by Rev Juddy Karei
  3. TH 200 Bible Doctrines by Rev Michael Wambua
  4. MN 311 Marriage and Family by Director Paul Mwangi

WEEK 1

The following day on Monday 3rd after their arrival, the start off with the morning devotion at 6pm. This is also accompanied by a time of prayer, praise and worship. Then later on at 7:30am, the student took their breakfast which was prepared by the hospitality team.

After taking supper they headed to sleep in their respective tents and prepare for the following morning’s session.

The following morning, Monday 2nd February 2025after having their breakfast, the students headed to class to have their first class for the November session.

Rev Munene arrives at 8am on Monday to take the first class of the semester. He takes them through Romans and Galatians.

As usual he begins with a song which the student pastors always love. After catching up with the class he proceeds to teaching them using the PowerPoint presentation. The teacher engages them with the course unit for three days.

In the same week, they are introduced to the next teacher who takes them through servant leadership. She gives them some books and other printed materials which they use in their learning during the session.

The two facilitators, Rev Jotham and Rev Juddy taught the class for the first week. The sessions were interactive and included a time of Q & A.

WEEK 2

On Saturday, Teacher Irene Kamau introduced a new unit -Bible Doctrines Survey, who was stepping in for Rev Wambua who was to continue the following week. Later that evening the Pastors prepare for the mission at Naivasha the following day.

On Sunday the Pastors headed to Naivasha. The mission was to visit Pastor George, a member of the CTLI Board who recently began a church- Berean Global Methodist Church. The service session included a time of worship, intercessory and sermon shared by one of the DPTC Pastors.

 The Pastors coordinated the service and later that afternoon, they held a crusade a few meters from the church. The mission was successful and later on they headed back to the camp to prepare for the following day.

The two teachers taught the class for the three days and at the end of the session, the Pastors sat an exam. The last unit for this semester was facilitated by Director Paul, facilitating Marriage & Family.

CLOSING CEREMONY

The semester ends with a closing ceremony, culminated with the taking of the Holy communion. The students leave the school on 14th February 2025 after having their breakfast in the morning. They leave to resume on 2nd May 2025.
